Crossroads is organizing a "public comment" on Wednesday, October 16 at 7:30 Everyone who wants to speak is welcome to come and speak to anyone who wants to listen. City Hall – courtyard (in front of the council chambers) All points of view very welcome, all arguments given equal time. Crossroads organized this because the City Council Meeting has been cancelled and the next one isn't until after the November election meaning that there is no opportunity for public comments beforehand.

First Annual Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Hosted by the South Pasadena Fire Association at the South Pasadena Fire Station (817 Mound Avenue, South Pasadena, CA 91030). Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the event: $7 adults and $3 children. All proceeds will go to City of Hope Breast Cancer Research. The Fire Department will also be selling Breast Cancer Awareness tee shirts : $15 adult size and $10 for children size. For more info, call 626-403-7300.
Fall Arts Crawl - Saturday, October 19 at 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Artists, musicians, and merchants gear up to celebrate the fall season with another fun and family friendly “Neighborhood Night-on-the-Town". Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and produced by SPACE, the South Pasadena Arts Crawl welcomes people of all ages to this free event, offering art exhibitions and activities, live music, open houses, food and drink specials, and sales throughout the business district. Mission Street, and adjacent blocks, will be with lively with event activities. Click here for the details and list of all the activities.
SPARC’s new art exhibition, “The Human Form,” Reception will be held from Saturday, October 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. The exhibition will run through January 7. The exhibit features evocative colored pencil works by artist/author/teacher Yuki Toy, known for her emotion-evoking illustrations. Toy, whose artwork has been part of the curriculum at USC and Cal Tech, is a teacher of anatomy illustration and figure drawing at a number of Los Angeles colleges and is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post. Curated by artist Blue Trimarchi of Art Works Fine Art Publishing, Inc. The SPARC Chamber Gallery is located inside the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce at 1121 Mission Street. (Gallery hours vary; to view the exhibition after Oct 19, it is suggested that you call the Chamber at (626) 441 2339 to confirm your visit.) Admission is free. The South Pasadena Arts Council (SPARC) will present interactive fun for all ages in the City Hall Courtyard on Saturday, October 19, from 4 to 9 p.m. SPARC will have a photo corner inspired by the book, “People Who Look Like Art,” by artist/author Lorraine Triolo, with a painted backdrop by artist Jeanie Joe and wildly original, found material hats for participants to don crafted by Triolo and Joe. Other activities include photo opportunities with comical pop-up boards painted by local South Pasadena artists and coloring fun for children. In addition, SPARC will hold a closing reception for its exhibition of works by artists Deborah Van Der Zaag and photographer David Johnston at South Pasadena City Hall in the ground floor and upstairs galleries.
Halloween Spooktacular October 25 at 5:30 pm - 8:00pm Orange Grove Park 815 Mission Street Spooky family fun awaits all who join us for The City of South Pasadena’s FREE Halloween Spooktacular! There will be games, inflatables, arts and crafts, and much more! Make sure to bring on a monstrous appetite as there will be plenty of food available for purchase. Otter Story Hour A live storytelling event held in the basement of a pub, Griffins of Kinsale, from 7 to 9 pm usually on the first Monday of the month. Visit the website and our Facebook page Our Otter storytellers pull up meaningful experiences from the depths of their lives, crack them open on their heart to expose what is tender and get them off their chest. When they do this we are all nourished, strengthened, enlivened. They re-mind us what we love about life. We can’t help watching.
