Yvonne Pine (L), representative of the League of Women Voters - Pasadena Area, presented educational background information about the 17 propositions that will be on the Nov. 8 statewide general election ballot. Yvonne Pine is a South Pasadena resident and former SPUSD board member.

Guest Speakers: "Yes on SP” Committee Chairs, Yuki Cutcheon and Jean Zenas
Presentation on the South Pasadena Unified School District $98 Million Bond Issue” There was a very interesting Q&A after the presentation with Committee Chairs, SPUSD Superintendent Geoff Yantz, and School Board Member, Julie Giulioni.

Guest Speaker: Paul Toor, P.E., Public Works Director
The City has embarked on the largest infrastructure improvement program in the history of the City. Mr. Toor filled us in on
(1) Landscape/Lighting improvements; (2) street/sidewalk repairs; (3) pending funding measures for public works projects;
(4) Monterey Road diet status; and other public works projects that are being planned.
He also introduced the new Public Works Operations Manager, Kristine Courdy.

Craig Watson gave a fascinating presentation on the role of the California Arts Council, how our city can strengthen its support of the arts, the effects of creating an arts district, and his insights on grants and other funding ideas for artists and organizations.
